Cosmetic bonding is a procedure in which a tooth colored resin material is applied and hardened with a special light that bonds the material to the tooth in order to restore and/or improve a person's smile.
Dental bonding is also referred to as cosmetic bonding and helps correct the following dental problems:

- Closes gaps between teeth
- Repairs chipped or cracked teeth

No advance preparation is required for cosmetic bonding and anesthesia is often not necessary, unless the cosmetic bonding is being used to fill a decayed tooth. Your dentist uses a shade guide to select a composite resin color that will closely match the color of your tooth.
